This is my beautifull friend Tamara Chipman..
I last time i saw and spoke with Tamara the friday before she disappeared. We were at a local gas station in Terrace.I was on my way to work so I only had a few mins to talk.(to this day I wish I had had more time to talk)
We talked about how she had run out of gas(mins before we meet up)and we talked about how our kids grow so fast..We agreed to call each other the next week so we could grap coffee and chat about life.We hugged good bye and we parted ways..
Its been amost 2 years now and Im still waiting for Tamara's call..
Not a single day goes by that i dont hope today will be the day Tamara calls.
FRIDAY MARKS the second anniversary of the disappearance of a local mother.
Tamara Chipman was last seen Sept. 21, 2005 hitchhiking back to Terrace on Hwy16 near the Prince Rupert industrial park after spending several days there visiting her mom and friends.
Despite two searches – one launched by RCMP and a second one by family and friends – Chipman hasn’t been seen since.
Chipman’s son Jaden, aged 2 at the time of her disappearance, just celebrated his fourth birthday and still is looking for his mom in his own way.
He calls his dad Rob Parker’s ex-girlfriend “mom” at times, which is upsetting, according to Parker.
“It just hurts me when he calls everybody else ‘mom,’” he said.
Parker said he’s keeping memorabilia from the papers “in case I have to explain something later on.”
He’s stopped listening to any tips he hears because people are “full of you know what” and he’s tired of hearing what others are saying.
Surrey private investigator Ray Michalko, who’s been on the case for a couple years now since taking a personal interest in it, notes Chipman as one of the missing women from Hwy16 whom he’s focusing his investigation on.
“I’m continuing to focus on Tamara Chipman, Nicole Hoar and Ramona Wilson,” he said from his Lower Mainland office last week.
“I seem to have more information regarding them than the others so far,” he said, referring to the many other women who have gone missing or been found murdered along Hwy16.
Nicole Hoar disappeared June 21, 2002 while hitchhiking from Prince George to Smithers to visit friends.
Ramona Wilson went missing June 11, 1994 while hitchhiking to a friend’s home in Smithers. Her remains were discovered near the Smithers airport in April 1995.
Michalko plans on returning to Terrace, Smithers and Prince Rupert in two or three weeks to follow up on more tips he’s received.
“I seem to be getting what I’d consider some pretty good information,” he said.
He’ll talk to about half a dozen people here, three or four in Smithers and two or three in Prince Rupert.
“I want to do more general enquiries out in the community with street people,” he said.
Michalko refrains from saying he’s close to solving Chipman’s case as “it’s a long uphill battle” but he remains optimistic.
People continue to call him to provide names of who they think may be involved in the disappearances.
“Although it shouldn’t, it never ceases to amaze me about the number of women that call and things that have happened to them and wanting to tell me in case their information can help and the individual who committed offences against them are doing it to other women,” he said.
He has passed on information worthy of more follow-up to the police and but hasn’t heard back from them and doesn’t expect to.
From the start of his investigation, and even more now, he is convinced that there are people out there who know what happened to the missing women.
“It’s just getting them to come on board so somebody can take action on their information,” he said.
Michalko still believes more than one person is involved in the murder and disappearance of these women.
“I think Ramona Wilson’s mom said to me if one case could be solved it would be a start and she said it didn’t have to be Ramona’s but it could be anyone, but one needs to be resolved,” he said.
Repeated attempts to contact Chipman’s family were unsuccessful.
Chipman is described as an aboriginal female, about 5’10” tall and weighing 130 pounds.
She has brown eyes and very short brown hair but was known to wear various blonde, brunette and red wigs.
Police said it’s unclear what clothes she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
Hello and thank you too everyone who has helped with Tamara's case. My name is Cory and this is my daughter Tamara. This September will be the second year that her dad and myself have been missing our girl, it has without a doubt been the worst two years of our lives. Not a day or even an hour goes by that I don't think about her. Wish that I could talk to her or even just hear her voice again. I see her face everyday but sadly only in my mind, I talk to her only from my heart now, but I am sure that God tells her we are loving her always and he has her safely with him. Tamara was born on October 11. Her Grandpa Chipman drove Tom and I too the hospital that day. I'm not sure who was more excited about her arrival? From the minute she arrived she was loved by her entire family both my side and Toms. But I must say that Toms dad grandpa John and grandma Agnes were her favorites. Grandpa thought she was just it. He once entered her in a cute baby contest and was soo mad that she had not won that he said they had rigged the contest we all laughed cause we knew he was a little one sided with her. Tamara has a very big family and I cant even begin to tell you how great they all are and how we all miss her soo much. Tamara also has a son named Jaden he is the love of my life and we are so happy we have a part of Tamara still here Again I would like to thank everyone for there help and support I could not have survived this without so much help, especially to cousin Florence who started our walk and to Aunty Lorna and Aunty Gladys and Gramma Chipman and Brigetta and all there families all of the people who helped with the searches oh my goodness there just isn't enough paper or time to write all the names but if you read this and you were there in body or spirit I thank you soo much It really does mean the world to me. Tom and Christine Jaden and myself will keep you all in our prayers .
Rumour fly around Terrace about Tamara chipman
at this point I have not been able to conferm or deny the rumours

Tamara CHIPMAN Investigation - Two Year Anniversary Update
The investigation into the disappearance of Tamara Chipman has remained an ongoing and active investigation being handled by the Terrace Detachment with the assistance of Prince Rupert Detachment and the Terrace Regional GIS section.
In the past year, investigators have made significant progress in eliminating a number of tips as well as concentrating on some more compelling leads. On September 22, 2007, a trained Ground Search & Rescue Team assisted police in searching a wooded area east of Prince Rupert. The search did not uncover any meaningful evidence.
Information has been shared with the Highway 16 investigative review team who are currently examining files of women who have gone missing or murdered along the highway. While the investigation into Chipman’s disappearance continues to take positive steps, it is too early to know if this information will be of any assistance to the Highway 16 review team.
On September 21st, 2005, Tamara CHIPMAN was last seen hitchhiking on Highway 16, east of Prince Rupert, BC. The police are still asking for the public to contact either the Terrace or Prince Rupert Detachments with any information related to this investigation.

I remember that day like it was yesterday,my parents called the had watched the news, they wanted to ask if I had you hidden away somewhere..
I really wish I had hidden you away, the last time we spoke we didnt have much time, but I could tell something was up,the things we talked about didnt seem that odd then, but now I wounder did you know something was going to happen, did you try to tell me and I missed it.
so many questions unanswered,so many rumors its hard! every where I go I hope to see you,but all I can do know is close my eyes and remember your beautifull smile,
I will never forget our last hugs good bye.
I only wish it hadnt been our last.
love you forever
forget you NEVER
I was really happy to see there was already a group started dedicated to the highway of tears. Tamara Chipman is my cousin, unfortunately we didnt get to spend much time together, but there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think about and miss her dearly. There needs to be more awareness about this all over Canada.
