It is NOT known how many young women disappeared along the Highway of Tears. So many cases went unreported!
This morning I reseived an email that I feel I NEED to share with you all.
This is just one exsample of an unreport case.
Please read the email from a women who talks about her MISSING big sister she never knew.
Its a heart breaking email to read, but it sure left me asking myself how many more cases are out there just like this one left UNREPORTED.
I ask you all If you have a MISSING family memeber who name should appear on the highway of tears list.PLEASE SPEAK UP.
The RCMP are finally takeing the highway of tears seriously its time to make sure no one is forgotten,
the known cases are dateing back to 1969 so it ok if your case is old,IT still NEEDS to be heard about.
The Hw of Tears has much more stories than are even told.
One of them I think, is the story of my older sister Eunice, who had "disappeared" before I was born. My older sisters remember her & have photos. Her last name was Bird, as she was 16 when she left home & never returned.
She was an average teen raised in Prince Rupert
My sis Wendy had consulted a medicine woman who had a vision that Eunice was buried somewhere along the bridge area in Kitwanga, B.C. after being murdered by 2 men she had left town with. Who knows if it's true...but she said she was with a white man & a native man & that these men were responsible for her death.
It's a sad story.
Once when I was small & heard about Eunice going missing I wrote a letter to some television show asking if they could find her for my parents who missed her so much.
I couldn't understand why myparents never brought this up to police.
Maybe because we are native...maybe they thought no, they weren't going to accept even a slight chance of her actually being abducted & murdered.
I think they always thought she was still living somewhere
they went looking for her quite a few times, travelling...inquiring...
anyway...there's one u probably never heard of yet.
